JOSEPHIANS PAY TRIBUTE TO THE GREAT SAINT VALMIKI JI
“To be always happy is indeed a challenge. Happiness and sorrow alternate in one’s life and there cannot be uninterrupted happiness alone”.
Students of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh paid tribute to a great saint Maharishi Valmiki Ji on his birth anniversary. Valmiki ji is regarded as “Adi Kavi”. He was a great sage and author of the epic “Ramayana” that consists of 24,000 verses and seven cantos (Kandas) including the Uttara canto. Valmiki Jayanti is celebrated with great enthusiasm in the Northern parts of India, particularly by Hindu devotees. On this auspicious occasion, the Josephians presented several literary activities including quiz and discussed elaborately the life of this great literary genius and his philosophy. This was done with the help of PowerPoint presentations. Josephites of the Secondary Block unleashed their hidden talent artistically while drawing beautiful sketches of the iconic Maharishi. The festival was celebrated by paying rich tributes to the great sage.
The Director Mr. Paramdeep Grewal and Principal Ms. Monica Chawla appreciated the efforts of the Educators as they reinforced Valmiki Ji’s ideologies on his birthday. Ms. Chawla stressed that the Maharishi’s transformation from an ordinary man to a Maharishi is indeed awe-inspiring and emphasized that Josephites follow the path of the renowned saint.
