St. Joseph organizes Workshop for Children Safety and Wellbeing in collaboration with CACA for Teaching Staff
Child abuse is a major issue which can have drastic and lifelong repercussion if not identified and resolved well before time.
Deeply aware of our social responsibilities towards our budding generation Josephians carried on the legacy and joined hands with CACA (Children against Child Abuse) in a joint venture to sensitize teachers and understand all concepts for the protection of the child rights.
The purpose of this session was to create awareness to prevent children from sexual abuse. Studies across the country have reported a staggering statistics, of every second child being the victim of some or the other form of sexual abuse. Child abuse is a serious problem that have lasting and harmful effects like post-traumatic stress, self-harming, suicidal thoughts, poor cognitive disorder. The list is never ending .
The session played an instrumental role in sensitization of the teaching staff about the types of abuse and what measures should be taken to prevent such issues. The 5P’s of child Protection, Prevention, Paramountcy, Partnership and Parental Responsibility was talked through in detail. Empowering the child with awareness was one of the main concern.
The mentors were educated to respond to risk in an appropriate, ideal and in an intrusive manner.
lt is important to remember that all children are innocent and pure and they need to be protected at all cost The laws for child protection were also shared with the staff. Around 129 participants joined this session and gave positive feedback.
The dedicated Management and the Principal Ms. Monica Chawla who have been resiliently working to provide the safest environment for the nurturing and development of each child in the school said in their message that “Our children are our greatest treasure. They are our future those who abuse them tear at the fabric of our society and weaken our nation.”
