CELEBRATIONS OF THE SACRED FESTIVAL OF GURPURAB WITH UTMOST DEVOTION AT ST JOSEPH’S

‘The showers of blessings were coming from the sky making the earth flourish today’

Gushing with sprituality, the ambience of St Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School was submerged in the sublime blessings from Guru Nanak Dev ji on the auspicious occasion of his birth anniversary. On this, the most sacred and blessed day a shabad-kirtan program was held at the school ground with the holy Guru Granth Sahib gracing the gathering of the entire school. The message of ‘Ik Onkar’ spread in the enchanted environment. The students were reminded of the tenacious Sikhs who do not lose faith even in the most adverse situations. The founders of the school Mr. Rupinder Grewal and Mrs. Harjinder Grewal paid their obeisance to the sovereign and eternal Guru.

This great day was marked with enthusiasm and with immense reverence for the Guru teaching students about living with serving mind and gratifying heart. The Kindergarten students were taken to a Gurudwara, the holy ‘door to the Guru,’ which was a Divine experience for the Pre KG and KG learners . The Students recited the ‘Mool Mantra’ along with their teachers. They bowed their heads with respect in front of the revered Shri Guru Granth Sahibji, to seek the sacred blessings. They were also told of Guru Nanak Dev ji’s family, his valour and martyrdom.

The Middle block Students recited poems on the Guru and his inspiring teachings. A quiz was organised and Prabhat Fheri was taken out. In the Secondary block, celebrations commenced with a prayer and students were inspired to lead a life like the Guru. The philosophy of Guru Nanak Ji was shared with the youngsters. Students were told on how Guru Nanak Devji believed in always working towards the betterment of the world and standing up against falsehood of all kinds, of hypocrisy and blind beliefs. Sakhis, Poems, Shabads, holy hymns, and speeches were special features of the celebrations. Teachers apprised students of the life of the Guru which was then followed by the Holy Ardas.

The Director of the school, Mr.Paramdeep Singh Grewal gave his warmest wishes to everyone and hoped that the teachings of Guru Nanak ji enlightens the hearts and minds of the students with sanctity and knowledge. Mrs. Anupam Grewal, Principal Kids R Kids also venerated to the Guru.

Drenched in the aura of the holy occasion, the Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla hoped that the teachings of Guru Nanak Ji, reflect goodness and compassion in all the young learners and bring happiness and prosperity into the lives of everyone and his blessings will remain with the entire school and staff always.
