Changing global scenario demands new adaptation in the process of education which should promote peace, social justice, respect for human rights and the acceptance of responsibility. Children need to learn skills of negotiation, problem solving, critical thinking and communication that will enable them to resolve conflicts without resorting to violence.
Keeping this thought in the mind St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School conducted several activities under the theme” Non-violence is the summit of bravery”.
Teachers conducted different activities like Film Show, Painting and Debate Competition and Nukkad Natak, focussing on the importance of Peace, Non – Violence and making them aware of environmental issues.
These activities helped children in acquiring the knowledge to defeat today’s challenges by embracing these values. Non – Violence is an expression of universal love that promotes Unity among children and a sense of being part of whole.Children grasp the powerful method of challenging and overcoming violence without using violence,for creatively transforming and resolving conflict and for fostering just and peace alternatives.
The Director Mr. Paramdeep Grewal and the Principal Ms. Monica Chawla appreciated the efforts of the children for participating in different activities and competitions.
