“Giving is not just about making a Donation. It is about making a Difference”
To celebrate Children’s day with a difference, the Peace Club of St Joseph’s Sr Sec School, Sector 44 D Chandigarh in collaboration with NGO Yuvsatta volunteered a plan to gift new woollen sweaters and jackets to school children in border areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Being a person who has been on the receiving side, it is nice to have new clothes that fit nicely and are not stained or torn. This is more help that we can imagine. Hence the students and teachers donated new woollen clothes to help the school children of J & K who face lots of hardships due to winter season. This drive helped in building healthy relationships and also inculcated the virtues of solidarity, empathy, sharing and caring in Josephites
The students made and sent beautiful Friendship cards also to their counterparts to spread smiles on their faces. They volunteered to help others to make the world a better place for all. It boost their happiness and a sense of well-being.
The Director Mr. Paramdeep Grewal and the Principal Ms. Monica Chawla applauded the initiative and urged all for more and more endeavours like this in future as well. They emphasized further that cherishing these blissful moments of helping others in their worst situation is another level of achievement in the era of bleakness and hollowness. Providing woollen clothes and gifting friendship cards to these school children drew a kind of inner satisfaction that led to better self esteem.
