Keeping the spirit of learning alive, and continuing the pursuit of enhancing knowledge, a workshop was conducted at St Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44- D, Chandigarh. The Guest Speaker, Mr. Arindam Roy Choudhury, Principal GD Goenka Public School, Jammu visited the school premises where he witnessed the Exhibition on the Toys and Games, handcrafted by the Teachers and students at St. Joseph’s. He was enamoured by the variety of methods employed by the Teachers to make Learning Creative, Easy and Fun and was keen to play every game on display, much to the excitement of the students.
He then went on to St. Joseph’s Presidium- Kids R Kids and addressed the Teaching Faculty of St. Joseph’s as well as Kids are Kids on the theme ‘ Learning Assessment’.
He also expounded upon the Stochastic Probability Theory, the VARK Method of Teaching Learning Process and gave an insight into acquainting oneself with the Smart Technique of Setting Learning Objectives and Outcomes.
The aim of the guest lecture was to equip Teachers with the latest theories and practices in the modern world of Education and changes required to cater to the needs of the new age students.
The informative session was quite a fruitful one as the facilitators got an opportunity to interact with Mr. Choudhury.
Mr. Arindam was presented with a token of appreciation by Director Mr. Paramdeep Singh Grewal and Management Member Mrs. Anupam Grewal. She thanked him for enlightening the gathering with his perspicacious discourse.
Taking inspiration from Charles Darwin’s famous quote, she reiterated that It is not the strongest nor the most intelligent of the species that survives, but the one that is the most adaptable to change. Therefore, at St. Joseph’s, Trainings and Workshops such as these are the need of the hour so that everyone is well equipped to adapt to the changing scenario so as to foster the holistic development of the students.
