Santa pays a visit to the Paediatric Advanced Cardiac Centre at PGI

St. Joseph’s Santa pays a visit to the Paediatric Advanced Cardiac Centre at PGI.

Life is not about making others happy. Life is about sharing your happiness with others.

To spread the message of love and good cheer, teachers of St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh, paid a hearty visit to the Paediatrics Advanced Cardiac Centre of PGI on the occasion of the world’s most loved and celebrated festival, Christmas.

St. Joseph’s students and faculty are always looking forward to contributing to the development of a positive community and bringing joy to the lives of the underprivileged through small but thoughtful acts. Strengthening the same bond of humanity, the empathetic members of the Philanthropic Club of the school again, for the fifth consecutive year, paid a humble visit to the Advanced Cardiac Centre of PGI to spread the true message of Christmas among the critically ill children.

The teachers of the school, in the guise of Santa Claus, turned the ailing children’s imagination into reality and helped them rejoice in this wonderful bliss. On Christmas, St. Joseph’s Santa gave gifts to the children and spread happiness and joy.

Various activities were performed to make this day memorable for the patients, who were stuck in the hospital ward to win over the ailments they were fighting with. It was really a pleasurable moment to see the suffering kids become a part of this celebration. The teachers made the patient kids forget about their pain by dancing with them and singing Jingle Bells.

Christmas goodies were presented to the patients as well as staff members of PGI. All the patients and staff members, including the team of doctors, were elated to see Santa in their ward. It was no less than a dream to see Santa in the hospital ward.

Santa’s smile reflected in every eye, making young patients forget about their pain, at least for some time. Their parents and the team of doctors applauded the kind gesture of the school for spreading happiness and hope by celebrating the festival with the less privileged.

The school director, Mr. Paramdeep Grewal, and principal, Ms. Monica Chawla, thanked the concerned authorities at PGI for allowing the school to go a step further in bringing a smile to the faces of the patients. Director Sir gave a message to remain positive in all situations and also stressed the need to share our happiness with the underprivileged in all that we do. Ma’am said that as children quietly replicate what they witness, it becomes our moral duty to not only preach but also practise kindness, benevolence, concern, and empathy. To sum up her thoughts, she quoted Mother Teresa, “It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”

She expressed her best wishes for Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
