Rejoicing in the glory of India , the grounds of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School Sector 44-D, Chandigarh resounded with the fervour and zest of the Josephian family as it came together to commemorate the 74th Republic Day of our country.
The celebrations commenced with the time honoured tradition of the unfurling of the National Flag by the Honorable Members of the School Management, the Principal and the Coordinators, followed by a robust rendition of the National Anthem by the School Choir.
Then it was the turn of the Josephians who paid a rich tribute to the Nation through their stupendous performances . A soul stirring Speech by Kavya of Class VII reminded everyone of the rich heritage that we Indians are privileged to share. The songsters of the school choir merized the gathering with their passionate rendering of a medley of patriotic songs.
Arshnoor and Anvi of Class VIII took the opportunity to apprise the onlookers with the Awardees of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar while Aashna of Class IX and Kanishka of Class VIII added to everyone ‘s repertoire of knowledge by expounding on the true meaning of a Republic Nation and the different Types of Republics, respectively. The Nukkad Natak team won the hearts of all present with their usual power packed performance as did the ardent dancers of Primary Block who danced their way into everyone’s hearts.
Ms. Rashi of the Kindergarten Block who was invited by Chandigarh Doordarshan to perform on the occasion of Republic Day also left the audience teary eye she recited her evocative and poignant self composed poem on the contribution of the martyrs of our countrySince Basant Panchami celebrations coincided with the Republic Day, Saanvi Vats and Saanvi Manhas of Class IX brought alive the vibrance of Punjab with their enactment portraying the significance of the festival.
It was moment of pride for the Josephians when National Cadet, Aditya Kashyap of Class X was chosen amongst hundreds of students to participate in the Republic Day parade, thus adding to the glory of the institution.
The Members of the School Management appreciated the spirit of patriotism depicted by the students who added a zing to the celebrations with their efforts. The Principal addressed the gathering saying that under the flagship of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav the Nation marks beginning of the celebrations for Vision India @2047 which encourages us to rediscover our hidden strengths and promotes us to take sincere synergetic action for a brighter future. She eulogised the freedom fighters, martyrs and bravehearts of our motherland stating that it was upto us now to carry forward their legacy and uphold the dignity and integrity of India by being honest, diligent and responsible citizens.
