A firm believer in the philosophy that collaboration is the birth of the biggest of opportunities, St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School collaborated with Government High School Sector 53 and GMSSS 44 Chandigarh in yet another initiative under the Girl India Project to empower the youth of today to solve the biggest problem of the present world, i.e., unemployment.
St. Joseph is a firm believer in sharing and spreading knowledge and new discoveries to all those who are associated with them. In yet another venture, the dedicated students and staff have been the only school in the Tricity to set up an entrepreneurial development centre in the school in collaboration with four esteemed institutions, namely, IIT-Ropar, NITTTR-26, PEC-CHD, and PU-CHD. 28 budding entrepreneurs and 2 mentor teachers had been undergoing training to transform the team from mere job seekers to job providers in the years to come by putting a cap on the unemployment problem in the country and forcing youngsters to leave the country to convert their dreams into reality.
PDC students and teachers of St. Joseph’s shared their prolific experience of the past six months’ learnings from various visits to the four esteemed institutions and their first-hand experience of closely observing the working of the start-ups in the incubation centres established in IIT Ropar and UIET and interacting with the young entrepreneurs there to teach the peer buddies for an enriching learning experience.
In order to impart the same knowledge and skill to the two associated schools, an interactive session was held in the school. Students of the government schools also expressed their enthusiasm for partaking in this wonderful alliance. Anecdotes full of motivation and life changing stories marked the conversation between the students on both sides.
Mr. Paramdeep Grewal, the school director, appreciated the mentor teachers and PDC students for sharing their best practises in order to make the learning process effective and interesting for all the schools. He expressed his delight that these collective endeavours will go a long way in transforming education by collaborating with each other and redesigning the goals of the National Education Policy.
The principal of St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Ms. Monica Chawla, who curated these collaborative exercises with partner schools under GIP, infused the students from both schools with her words of motivation and urged them to maintain the fervour and not rest till they accomplish their goal to make the Venture a success. She expressed the need to have the 3 I approach in life, i.e., Intent, Implement and Impact, in order to be successful in every sphere also the need to be the bucket fillers for all to spread positivity amongst all associated with us.
ALWAYS AIM HIGH, WORK HARD, AND CARE DEEPLY ABOUT WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN. AND, WHEN YOU STUMBLE, KEEP THE FAITH. AND, WHEN YOU’RE KNOCKED DOWN, GET RIGHT BACK UP AND NEVER LISTEN TO ANYONE WHO SAYS YOU CAN’T OR SHOULDN’T GO ON. – HILLARY CLINTON
