St. Joseph’s Scores Another Coup at the GIP Awards

St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh has become a name synonymous with success. It has been a founder member of the The Girls India Project which has been moving from strength to strength with each passing day. On the auspicious occasion of The National Girls Child’s Day, a special Award Ceremony was held to felicitate the institutions who have been active members of the GIP. To acknowledge the laudable contribution in taking the GIP to new heights, St. Joseph’s was chosen as one of the five best schools to be bestowed with the prestigious Girls India Award. The award was conferred upon the dynamic Principal Ms. Monica Chawla for the exemplary work in promoting Girls’ Rights and Dignity of Girls and Women.

The ceremony was organized by Shri Pramod Sharma, Yuvsatta ( Youth for Peace) and Dr. Ajay Sharma (Peace Club GGDSD, Chandigarh) along with the State Legal Services Authority, Chandigarh and Antar Rashtriya Sahyog Parishad, New Delhi.

St. Joseph’s has been working round the clock towards ensuring the empowerment of the Girl Child through a multitude of activities that have served to create awareness not only among the students but also reaching out to the society at large.

Monica Chawla, accepting the tribute on behalf of her enterprising team, i.e. the entire Josephian Family, she stated that it was both an honour and a privilege for her to be part of such a perspicacious Project. She further quoted that we need to teach our children irrespective of their gender that true abundance is not based on net worth but rather on our self worth.
