The air of gaiety and festivity engulfed the premises of St.Joseph’s Sr.Sec.School , Sector 44 D Chandigarh with the celebration of its Annual Fiesta titled as ‘Whimsical Wonders,a cultural bonanza.The convergence of many cultures on one platform was immaculately woven into a kaleidoscopic tapestry with the threads of diligence, determination of the students and staff culminating into a grand spectacle .The entire show by the students of Primary -1 was a showcase of all the talent they had honed and build on during their school year.With music, dazzling dances and hues of colours, the Josephites offered their proud parents the entire me’lange of vibrant acts.
Mr. Anup Gupta the Mayor Chandigarh and Ms Harjinder Kaur, the driving force behind CCPCR graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour respectively.The revered Principal Ms. Monica Chawla along with all the venerable Coordinators of the school accorded a warm traditional welcome to the esteemed Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour’.
The exquisite decorations were absolutely magnificent and a sight to behold. The festivities started with the’ Balloon Releasing Ceremony’. Movement, mime and music came together beautifully in ‘Ganesh Stuti’, the opening performance to invoke the blessings of the Almighty. It was followed by articulated allocution by the Principal, Mrs. Monica Chawla welcoming the galaxy of luminaries and enumerating the achievements of Josephites through the Annual Report which apprised parents about the significant happenings in school during the academic year The honorable orations of the Chief Guest and the Guests of Honour were appreciative, motivational and urged the parents to help their children’s dreams come true. The Guest of Honour Ms. Harjinder Kaur gave a motivating address complementing the school for providing a forum to showcase students’ talents, remove stage fear, build self-confidence, and teach teamwork.
The series of cultural events enriched with the effervescence of various themes like save water, save energy, climate change etc were an eye opener and delightful feast to the audience.Many malicious practices like Gender inequality, and influence of social media still prevailing in the society were showcased through the talents of the children to eradicate these vicious activities. The teams function like clockwork to put together an outstanding event.
The well timed gap-fillers like hilarious jokes, Radio Jockey, Famous Personalities of India , GPT Chat Bot, Talk on SDG’s were equally entertaining and their careful planning reflected St.Joseph’s skill in managing time in a programme of such magnitude. Be it an enthralling Western Dance performance or the Chinese Dance, the programme was an amalgamation of various hues and the students spread the colours of peace and happiness.Infused with the spirits of pride and solidarity the ‘Patriotic Dance’ evoked the feelings of patriotism and love for the nation that essentially lie within every citizen of the country . ‘Swatchta ki Jyot’ was a dance based on the theme of cleanliness. The audience outpoured their love and adoration for the young Josephites with radiant smiles. The event brightened up with a euphonious foot tapping performance ‘Sports Mania. Parents were euphoric to see their young ones performing on the stage
The festivities rode to the final crescendo with the most fervent item of the programme’ Rakhi Virse Di’ ( Bhangra).The grounds of St.Joseph’s reverberated with thunderous round of applause extolling the performers with immense love and support. The exhilarating show was an unforgettable experience and left a lasting impression on the minds of everyone present. It was indeed a spectacular display of talent and fervor.The sparkling event culminated amidst the encomiums and encores of the audiences.
The School Management lauded the entire team for putting their heart and soul to put up this wonderful show, reminiscences of which would gladden their hearts for years to come and further stated that events like this will go a long way to build confidence, develop personalities, and discover hidden talents in the students.
The honourable Principal Ms. Monica Chawla appreciated the dedicated efforts of teachers, relentless support of coordinators and hard work of students for raising this event to the next level.
