“Health is the greatest gift”
To promote the eating of healthy wholesome meals and saying no to junk food, the Secondary Block of St. Joseph’s Sen. Sec. School, took the initiative of conducting a plethora of activities for the students. The activities were conducted under the ‘Physical and mental well-being’ theme. The participants made and presented a variety of delicacies and were briefed about the nutritional values of their respective dishes, hence making it a productive task of focusing on healthy eating and good exercise habits.
Class Educators discussed the importance of good health and well-being. They emphasized that for a healthy lifestyle, it is imperative to make informed choices about one’s health, to reduce the chances of chronic diseases.
Research has shown that students are able to learn better when they’re well nourished, and eating healthy meals has been linked to higher grades, better memory and alertness, and faster information processing.
The Vice Principal Ms. Meena Sharma, while adding her viewpoint on the same said that well-being is important and that schools have an essential role to play in supporting students to make healthy lifestyle choices and understand the effects of these choices. She also added that the school aims at the goals set for good health and the teachers and coaches work tirelessly for the well-being of their students.
