Come summer and the air is filled with the fragrance of mango blossoms taking us all on a trip down memory, reminding us all of our childhood. The King of Fruit holds a special place in our hearts which is aptly celebrated every year with the Mango Festival organised by the Haryana Tourism jointly with the Horticulture Department, Haryana at the Yadavindra Gardens, Pinjore.
Like every year, this time too, the students of St Joseph’s Sr Sec. School,Sector 44-D, Chandigarh participated in the annual Mango Festival with great gusto and enthusiasm.
The Mela comes to life with number of competitions and activities themed around the Mighty Mango such as Mango Story Writing, Face Painting, Dance Competitions, to name a few.
This year, despite the fact that it was raining cats and dogs, the indefatigable team, comprising of 7 teachers and 103 students made it to the Venue all geared up to put in their best.
The Josephians who always put their heart and soul into acing their performances, walked away with accolades once again.
They were awarded the Second Position in the Group Dance Competition, while the Third position for Best Handwriting was won by Navya and by Kashvi and Sehaj Preet for Nail Art. Another crowning glory for the team of St. Joseph’s was Ms. Anita Gareja, Activity Incharge at St. Joseph’s being honoured with a Medal for her On the Spot Anchoring, by the Haryana Tourism.
The ecstatic Josephians received blessings from the Members of the School Management, Mr. Rupinder Singh Grewal, Mrs. Harjinder Kaur, Mr. Sukhdeep Grewal and Mr. Paramdeep Grewal who congratulated and appreciated their positive attitude of surmounting all odds to achieve their aspirations.
Needless to say their joys knew no bounds as they happily posed with Principal Ms. Monica Chawla who applauded the Josephian spirit to overcome all challenges and boosted their morale with her words of commendation.
