 OUTSTANDING ALUMNI AND COLLABORATING PRINCIPALS FELICITATION-HIGHLIGHT OF THE CULTURAL EVE

The annual Cultural Eve entitled, ‘Expressions’ was celebrated with much fervor and gaiety at St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, sector 44. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mr. T.C. Nautiyal, Director, Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration. Some special invitees for the event were Principals of reputed schools of the Tri-City, who were felicitated for their amazing collaboration for the enhancement of learning. They included, Ms. Asha Rani, Ms. Suman Jaiswal and Mr. Dharamender. The event began with a heartwarming tradition of the Ganesh Vandana, a symbol of the reverence for the traditional heritage and aspiration for a successful and harmonious event. Thereafter, a mesmerizing journey through the vibrant tapestry of Indian culture unfolded. The stage came alive with the graceful movements of classical folk dances like Bhangra, Dandiya, Luddi and Ghummar. The traditional and contemporary dance forms, created a visually stunning impact that celebrated the diversity of India. The colourful costumes, intricate footwork, and emotive expressions of the dancers, left a lasting impression on the audience.

Another breathtaking performance was the Shiv Tandav, a fiery dance of the Mighty Lord Shiva. ‘A Dance of Dazzling Light’ was a spectacular, dynamic and visually stunning western dance that brought the audience to their feet with its energy and exuberance. An inspiring journey of the epic saga of Ramayan, unfolded on stage. The beautiful performance displayed a story of courage, of the triumph of good over evil and emphasized the importance of adhering to one’s duty.

On this occasion two books written by students and staff members were released by the Chief Guest. The first book entitled – ‘The Enchanted Verses,’ a fascinating collection of poems, covered a range of topics. Students from all age groups were contributors as they penned down their works. The second book released was initiated after concerns being raised about sustainable development goals. The school embarked on a mission to create a Comic Chronicle conveying the relentless efforts required to secure a sustainable future. These releases, the brainchild of Principal Ma’am, were a celebration of creativity and youthful expression. It showcased the diverse voices and perspectives of the next generation of writers, offering a platform for their unique thoughts and emotions.

 St. Joseph’s history is woven with the threads of the alumni’s successes and during the function, a few students were honored celebrating their remarkable journey and reaching praise-worthy milestones. A few students namely, Sachin, Ravleen and Anita Chaudhary were recognized for their exemplary commitment in the fields that they have excelled in.

The Members of Management Mr. Sukhdeep Singh, Mr. Paramdeep Singh Grewal conveyed in their message that they were immensely proud of the choreographers and staff members who with their tireless efforts, were able to bring out the diverse cultures that reflected the school’s ethos. The Principal Ms. Monica Chawla, praised the staff for orchestrating a cultural event that was not only entertaining but also educative, fostering unity and understanding among students.
