Sacrifices of our martyrs bore fruits in the form of our much-treasured independence. This independence became complete after our Constitution was written and enforced on 26th January 1950. It is a day that invokes feelings of love and respect for all those who gave up their lives so that we can enjoy our freedom today.
To embrace the spirit of patriotism and unity, St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec School in Chandigarh celebrated the 75th Republic Day with unparalleled enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The day’s events were marked by a series of engaging activities that instilled a sense of pride and unity among students, teachers, and staff.
The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by the esteemed Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla. In her inspiring address, Ms. Chawla emphasized the significance of the day, urging students to embody the principles of democracy and contribute positively to society.
The school echoed with melodious patriotic songs, setting the perfect tone for the occasion. Following the flag hoisting, students took the ‘Patriotic Pulse Pledge,’ reaffirming their commitment to upholding the values of the Indian Constitution.
The students of Primary-1 engaged themselves in Tricolor Caps making activity. Whereas Primary-2 students showcased their talent in composing Acrostic poems and Middle block did Poster Making on Republic day which instilled a feeling of deeper appreciation for their national heritage.
The students of Secondary Block participated in Poster making activity entitled-‘My salute to the Indian soldiers’. Students also wrote heartfelt messages to the soldiers on postcards. The idea behind this activity was to make students realize the value of our Army and the soldiers who do so much for the nation. This was the best way for young children to pay tribute to the unconditional support given by the soldiers and the supreme sacrifices made by these brave hearts. Students paid homage to the resilience and valour of our armed forces, whose unwavering dedication safeguards the principles our Republic Day stands for.
The highlight of the event was the teachers sharing their experiences, reflecting on the importance of education in shaping responsible citizens. The teaching faculty showcased unity in diversity by sharing their diverse experiences and perspectives, fostering a deep sense of camaraderie among the staff.
NCC students played a crucial role in the celebration, with a captivating presentation on their experiences at the NCC camp. Their dedication and commitment were commendable, and they shared valuable insights into the enriching experiences gained during the camp. The Bal Awardees added an extra layer of charm with their creative writings, providing a glimpse into the promising future of our nation.
The members of the management were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and commitment of the students and staff and conveyed the message to work towards the betterment of our country and uphold the values enshrined in our Constitution.
The Principal Ms. Monica Chawla, in her Republic Day speech, emphasized the role of educators as mentors, urging them to give their best to the students. She further emphasized the importance of holistic development and character-building, encouraging students to excel not only academically but also as responsible citizens.
