An engaging and informative road safety awareness session was conducted at ST. JOSEPH’S SR. SEC. SCHOOL, CHANDIGARH by the Chandigarh Traffic Police Department. Classes IX and X were the enthusiastic participants in an interactive and motivational event, overseen by Inspector Mr. Rohtas Yadav and his dedicated team.
The Josephians went on a visual journey through traffic rules and signs, guided by a compelling PowerPoint presentation by the officials. Real-life incidents were shared by the insightful official Mr. Rajiv Sharma, encouraging students to take responsibility for their lives both on and off the roads. He shed light on the emotional toll an accident can inflict on families, underscoring the gravity of road safety.
Sub-Inspector Mr. Bhupinder Singh, a well-known motivational singer from the Chandigarh Traffic Department, added a fun element to the session. Through catchy tunes, he sang informative traffic rules and introduced feet-tapping lyrics encouraging helmet usage, adhering to speed limits and told of the dire consequences of ignoring them. A pledge to earnestly follow all traffic rules was taken by students and staff, highlighting the need for patience, especially during peak hours. At the conclusion of the program, a quiz was conducted and awards were given to the victorious participants.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the school management, Principal Ms. Monica Chawla thanked the Chandigarh Traffic Police Department for their useful and impactful initiative. She affirmed the commitment to integrating such life-enriching sessions into the ongoing teaching-learning process, ensuring the continuous nurturing of responsible and safety-conscious individuals within the school community.
