 Celebrating Skilling and Digital Initiatives Day

Renowned for its commitment to holistic education and embracing cutting-edge technologies, the school proudly celebrated the 4th anniversary of the National Education Policy 2020 with a special event titled “Skilling and Digital Initiatives Day.” Held during the Shiksha Saptah, this event brought together esteemed educators, principals, and thought leaders to explore the transformative role of technology and artificial intelligence in education aligning with the goals of NEP 2020.

The occasion was graced by eminent personalities from the education sector, including the Chief Guest, Mr.Rajiv Under Secretary Centre of Excellence (COE) Chandigarh. Mr. Rajiv visionary leadership and dedication to educational excellence have been instrumental in setting new benchmarks for professional development and teacher training. In his key note speech,he motivated all educators and appreciated St. Joseph’s initiatives and working strategies. His words energized the audience, highlighting the critical role educators play in shaping the future and the importance of integrating technology into education to enhance learning outcomes.

The distinguished guest speakers included Mr. Ravjot Singh, an academician, mentor, and strategist, currently serving as the Assistant Vice President at Narayana. Mr. Singh shared his extensive experience and insights into the role of AI in strengthening NEP 2020, highlighting his notable achievements in educational innovation. He introduced various AI tools and techniques that educators can incorporate into their teaching methodologies, offering practical solutions to enhance classroom learning.

Ms. Chetan Bansal, Principal of Shemrock World School, Zirakpur, and Academic Design & Development Director for Cambridge University, led a session on the use of AI in lesson planning and assessment. With over 35 years of experience and as a Microsoft Certified Innovator Educator, Ms. Bansal’s contributions to integrating technology into education were profoundly inspiring. She demonstrated several cutting-edge AI tools that would significantly aid teachers in creating engaging and effective lesson plans.

The event also welcomed esteemed principals from various schools, including , Ms. Asha Rani (GMSSS-37D), Ms. Suman Jaiswal (GHS-53).. Their presence underscored the collaborative spirit and commitment to advancing educational standards.

The day’s proceedings began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by the  distinguished guests, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance and the illumination of wisdom. This was followed by a melodious welcome song performed by the talented students of St. Joseph’s, setting a harmonious tone for the event.

One of the highlights of the event was the interactive quiz session, which served as a recapitulation of the concepts and discussions held throughout the day. Educators actively participated, showcasing their knowledge on the topics of NEP 2020 and educational innovation. The quiz not only tested their understanding but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and enthusiasm among the participants.

Principal Monica Chawla’s session on the “Changing Nature of Job Profiles & New Skills Needed” was nothing short of enlightening.Ms. Chawla emphasized the importance of adaptability and continuous learning, underscoring how emerging technologies, particularly AI, are reshaping the skill sets required for future careers.Her insightful analysis highlighted the critical need for educators to equip students with not only technical skills but also critical thinking, creativity, and emotional intelligence. She passionately advocated for an education system that fosters innovation and prepares students to thrive in an ever-changing job markets.

Ms. Chawla’s session left a lasting impact on all attendees, motivating them to embrace new teaching methodologies and tools to better prepare students for the future. Her dedication to nurturing a culture of excellence and innovation within the school community was evident, making her session a cornerstone of the events It was followed by engaging performances, including a song by the talented Ms. Rashi, who captivated the audience with her artistic flair.

The school faculty also contributed significantly to the event. Ms. Jagmeet Kaur, an innovative English PGT, and Ms. Rupali, the skilled school counselor, conducted a session on integrating AI into daily teaching practices. Their combined expertise offered valuable insights into how AI can support student well-being and academic growth. The session was interactive and engaging, providing practical examples of how AI can be used to enhance teaching methods and support students’ emotional and academic development.

The esteemed management members Mr Sukhdeep Grewal and Paramdeep Grewal In their message,  expressed their appreciation for the workshop and its impactful sessions. They emphasized their hope for the use of AI as an important tool to enhance learning outcomes, stating, “We are thrilled to see such innovative approaches being introduced in our educational practices. The integration of AI in teaching not only enriches the learning experience but also prepares our students for the future. We look forward to seeing these tools effectively implemented in classrooms to foster a more engaging and dynamic educational environment

In her message, Principal Ms. Monica Chawla emphasized the significance of embracing the goals of NEP 2020. She said, “The future belongs to those who learn more skills and combine them in creative ways. Today’s event is a testament to our commitment to quality education through innovation and skill development. We are grateful to our distinguished guests and participants for their valuable contributions.”

Gratitude was also conferred towards the esteemed management members, Director Sukhdeep Grewal and Paramdeep Grewal, for their unwavering support .Their visionary guidance and commitment to educational excellence were instrumental in making this workshop happen and ensuring its success. The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where mementos were presented to the distinguished guests and speakers, symbolizing appreciation for their invaluable insights and contributions. Additionally, individual certificates were awarded to all participants, acknowledging their active involvement and commitment to professional growth.
