School Chandigarh celebrated the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami with great zeal and enthusiasm, reflecting the deep-rooted traditions and cultural heritage that mark this significant festival. The event, commemorating the divine birth of Lord Krishna, symbolizes the beginning of hope, the end of darkness and rooting out of evil forces.
The students of the school, actively participated in a variety of activities designed to highlight the importance of Janmashtami. The little ones, dressed as Radha and Krishna, stole the show with their adorable performances. As a part of its Janmashtami celebrations, the students of the Primary 2 Block captivated the audience with a mesmerizing enactment of Lord Krishna’s life. The students brought to life the enchanting tales of Lord Krishna, capturing the essence of his divine persona and the profound teachings that have guided generations. The students of Primary Block 1 engaged in creative decoration of iconic symbols of the Lord, the flute and the matki, crafting vibrant and ornate work of art using sequins, beads, threads and feathers. Joining the celebration, the Middle Block students designed miniature versions of Lord Krishna’s cradle, his symbolic flutes and crowns that glorify and adorn the savior. The Senior Block added to the fervor of the celebrations by participating in a poster making activity depicting scenes from the life of Lord Vishnu’s incarnation which included his childhood mischief, the Ras Leela and the divine moment of his birth.
Actively engaging and taking pride in the joyous celebration, the Principal highlighted the significance of Janmashtami, urging students to imbibe the teachings of Lord Krishna in their lives. She emphasized the importance of upholding the values of truth, devotion, and righteousness as exemplified by Lord Krishna.
The various activities to mark the day fostered a sense of pride and respect for tradition among the participants, making the celebration of Janmashtami even more meaningful. The entire event was a true reflection of the rich cultural and religious traditions that are the essence of Indian festivals, nurturing a spirit of unity and devotion among the students and staff alike.
