To commemorate the birth of the second President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a philosopher and a great teacher, 5th September every year is celebrated as Teacher’s Day. His contribution towards Indian education is undeniable.
The Teacher’s Day was organised with incredible gusto and zeal by the students of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh.
A warm welcome at the school gate with flowers, cards and tastefully decorated ‘ENTRANCE’ was pleasant surprise for all the teachers.
Teachers play a major role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings. Hence to express their gratitude, a wide range of activities were organised on this occasion.
Fun filled games were planned at the school ground which reminded the teachers of their school days and made them feel nostalgic. That was not all, the students planned many spectacles for the day and showcased many scintillating dance performances, on some peppy numbers which highlighted the heart warming relationship between a teacher and a student.
Also, the school was called off a half day, following which the staff was taken for sumptuous lunch at Hotel Beckons, Sector 42, Chandigarh. The Hall vibrated with power packed and sensational performances of the teachers. The melodious songs, the heart throbbing dances and thrilling games made the day the most memorable one for the teachers.
The day concluded by honouring the teachers for their valuable contributions to the school. They were felicitated bycertificates for various categories by members of the management worthy Ms. Anupam Singh and Mr. Paramdeep Singh.
The Director Ms. Rupinder Singh and the Principal Ms. Monica Chawla congratulated the teachers and acknowledged the sincere efforts of every teacher for painstaking effort they selflessly put in every day. The Principal reminded the students of the tireless labour and love all the teachers put in to bring them up as knowledgeable and compassionate individuals. It was a remarkable day for all the josephians with many unforgettable moments. She inspired that being a teacher is one of the staff by saying greatest privilege to contribute towards Nation Building.
All the teachers applauded overwhelming zeal and enthusiasm of the students for making such a glorious event to cherish forever.
