Bill Gates has rightly said, “Treatment without prevention is simply sustainable”
Keeping this in view and subsequent to the high level review of the status of Dengue, St. Joseph held a special assembly on 16th May to make children aware of this deadly disease and to prevent Dengue in the school. A pledge was taken by Josephians to maintain cleanliness in the school campus and to take care of personal hygiene. This assembly was to create widespread awareness among young children.
Ms. Amisha,a student of Class X discussed the activities and measures to be taken for awareness amongst students, the prevention and the control of dengue so as to effectively address the situation, and not allow it to escalate. The students were told about the transmission of the disease such as abundance of vector mosquitoes, water storage practice, increased mobility of population and human behaviour.
The school Principal Ms. Monica Chawla addressed the students and advised them for taking preventive measures for not letting water stagnate and playing as instrumental role in motivating the masses to follow the same as well. The assembly was quite informative and useful for the youngsters especially in summers.
