In order to raise awareness about disaster reduction, film based on disaster preparedness was shown to the students of Primary II Block of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44 –D, Chandigarh.

                     Through the movie, the students were taught not to panic in the wake of earthquake, floods, fire or rainstorms etc. It also provided an insight into the prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery in various disaster situations. The students were engrossed to visualize the impact of different disasters and destruction which they cause to the mankind and property.Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla speaking on the disaster management stated that, “To handle any unforeseen situation efficiently, we need to be well equipped with latest technologies. It cannot avert the outbreak of disaster but can mitigate its impact to a large extent.”
