On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the staff and students at St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh are always geared up to contribute their bit towards making the world a safer and greener place for everyone. They have visited various spots in Chandigarh from Elante to Sector 17 Plaza and the market area of Sector 44-D in their mission to spread awareness about the importance of celebrating an Eco-Friendly Diwali.
The Theatre Group of St. Joseph’s was specially invited by the Youth Innovative Society to participate in the Diwali festivities ‘Har Ek Diowali- Shubh Diwali’.Though the Josephians have always been in the limelight for their endeavours, this time it was Ms. Anita Gareja who was felicitated by the Mayor of Chandigarh, Sh. Davesh Modgil. Ms. Gareja who is the teacher in-charge of the Theatre group at St. Joseph’s has already earned a name for herself and her ‘Street Rockers’, having won numerous awards in every competition they have participated in. Ms. Gareja was awarded a Special Trophy by the Mayor for her self composed poem on ‘Jeewan Ki Shubh Deepawali’ that was an on the spot composition.
Principal Ms. Monica Chawla warmly congratulated Ms. Anita Gareja and praised her for her untiring efforts and contribution in taking St. Joseph’s to new heights.
