In order to make the tiny tots of Nursery and Pre K.G. learn the names of different vegetables & fruits, their colours and nutritional value, a mini Vegetable Market scene was fabricated in the Kindergarten Block of St.Joseph’s Sr.Sec.School Sector 44-D Chandigarh. A mini vegetable market comprising of various stalls was put up in the classroom itself. The stalls’ banners were named after the students’ names. The little ones presented a skit to create awareness about cleanliness and using paper bags instead of polythene bags. Some students posed as vegetable sellers while others acted as customers. The students felt exhilarated as they bought the vegetables and fruits and paid its price in currency. Vegetables and fruits were delivered in paper bags to encourage the students not to use polythene bags as they are harmful for health and atmosphere. The skit also conveyed the message of maintaining cleanliness in markets and other public places. It was a fun-filled activity enriching the learning of the little ones.
