St. Joseph’s Sen. Sec. School, Chandigarh conducted a First Aid workshop for Secondary Block students in school premises only. The aim of the workshop was to create medical awareness among teachers, pupils and other staff members. School doctor Ms. Megha , the facilitator, stressed on the need to harness first –aid training .The workshop imparted knowledge of commonly occurring situations in our day to day life. Precautions to be taken for handling various emergency situations like fainting, dog –bites, burns and cuts etc. were given through presentation. It was explained to children as to how one should remain calm and give basic medical aid to students in need. The aim of the workshop could be summarized in three key points. Preserve Life-Save Life and minimize damage, prevent further harm and promote recovery. The workshop was helpful in dealing with common accidents and equipped the children to deal with the same. The session was quite interactive and many queries were discussed and analyzed .It proved to be a fruitful and instructive workshop for all present.
Principal Ms.Monica Chawla appreciated Ranjit House’s efforts for highlighting such programmes to enlighten the educators and pupils with medical training which can prove to be a life saviour.
