The students of Ashoka house from the secondary block at St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School held a board making competition to mark the Ozone day that falls in the month of September. The topic for the competition was –“ Every ozone hole is a threat to our soul”. A significant theme that would enable these young students to understand why the ozone layer is so very important. Hardhitting and meaningful slogans were also put up by the students. Some read – “ Save the ozone- natures sunscreen.” Another read – “There is no zone when we pollute ozone”.
These competitions become important for students to participate in as doing so, there is tremendous learning too. It is not just the creative aspect that is relevant when judging but also to see whether the idea behind the theme was captured by the students or not.
The winners for this competition were class X B and IX C who bagged the first position, followed by classes X E and IX B who got the second position and by classes X D and IX E who earned the third position.
The Principal Ms. Monica Chawla who has always encouraged students to participate, was appreciative of the efforts of the classes and congratulated them for their creative efforts.
