St. Joseph’s Sr.Sec School ,Sector 44-D, Chandigarh welcomed the most awaited festival of India- Diwali .For the celebration of this festival, the students of Class I conducted special assembly with devotion , enthusiasm and excitement . Eco friendly message was spread through English skit and speech on “Say No to crackers” using banners. The students performed dance and recited poems to encourage audience to celebrate Diwali in harmless manner. The students were adorned in attractive outfits for the day to perform different characters like Ram , Sita, Laxman and Hanuman. This celebration made the students aware of the Indian culture and tradition. The celebration was concluded on the urge for the students to act responsibly and be sensitive towards the essence of our environment and safety of animals.
GEL CANDLE MAKING WORKSHOP
An initiative with the help of Realm Foundation, Hyderabad to promote “Make in India” campaign along with promoting its endeavor of inculcating values, social responsibilities and life skills by organizing a workshop for CREATING YOUR OWN GEL CANDLE.
A Free of cost workshop was organized on October 11, 2019, Friday at the School premises for a duration of 45 minutes and class VI students participated in it. Gel candles of three sizes were created. Students participated enthusiastically in the workshop and created the candles themselves after learning the same from the experts. The event was supervised by Head of the department of Arts Ms. Vandana Vats.
