Students of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh had the unique opportunity to visit the Sukhna Lake to participate in the event of watching the various avian species in all their glory. Around forty Josephians of class VIII were part of the event and found the vista around the Sukhna Lake, a virtual bird watcher’s paradise. They were fascinated to see their beautiful fine feathered friends such as the Cormorant, the Common Pochard and the Purple Heron, to name just a few. The event was organized by Mr. Pramod Sharma, Coordinator of the Yuvasatta, an NGO, in an attempt to spread awareness and inculcate a love for Nature and Her favoured creatures. They got a wonderful chance to gain knowledge from Mr. Kulwant Singh about the migratory birds that visit Chandigarh during this season. The students also enjoyed the refreshments served to them, especially after the exhilarating walk and talk session.
