The annual cultural fiesta ‘Whimsical Wonders’ was organised by the Primary-1 Wing of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh with great zeal and enthusiasm in the School premises. The function commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guests Dr. Abdul Qayum, Principal Mrs. Harveen P. Kaushal Govt. Model High School, Sector 45-C, Chandigarh and Mrs. Jyoti Batra, Project Associate, CBSE. Founder Lady Smt. Harjinder Kaur, Director Mr.Rupinder Singh, Members of the management Mr. Paramdeep S. Grewal and Mr. Sukhdeep Singh, Ms. Lily Sebastian and Principal Ms. Monica Chawla graced the occasion as special guests.The function commenced seeking the blessings of Maa Durga ‘The Goddess of power’. The students exhibited their hidden talent and emotions through various dance forms. The elegant dance ‘Eco Warriors’ presented by the students of class 1 was an eye-opener for us with a message to take care of our natural resources before it is too late.True sportsmanship emphasised the importance of physical fitness through rock and roll. ‘Rangeela Rajasthan’ –a folk dance was a delight to watch. It’s our responsibility to protect nature was strongly conveyed by the students of class 2. ‘Mera desh badal raha hai ‘ depicted the progress of India and the contribution of Josephites in the field of sports captivated the attention of the audience. ‘Hum deep shiksha ke hain’ was a powerful and mesmerizing dance performance which also highlighted the activities of St. Joseph’s in collaboration with Government Schools was a unique item.The blend of rich tradition of Gujarat was tastefully depicted. Classical dance on the flamboyant hero of Indian mythology- Manmohana Krishna was appreciated by all. Life is to be enjoyed and not just endured was the message delivered by an impressive dance performance by class 2. A sincere tribute to our valiant soldiers touched everyone’s heart. The audience were rejuvenated by the energetic Punjabi dance medley of Bhangra and Gidda. Shalok, jokes and skating performance enthralled the audience.
Dr. Abdul was full of praise for the global concerns raised by the tiny tots of Class 1 and 2. He also deeply appreciated the hard to believe performances of the kids & the efforts of the teachers behind the same. He also admired the soaring success of the school in various domains and appreciated the efforts of the students and the staff for putting up such a wonderful show. Principal Ms. Monica Chawla addressed the gathering & shared the achievements of the school in different domains.
