Poetry is the core of literature.
To spread the fragrance of our mother tongue Hindi among Pre-K.G. children of St. Joseph Sr. Sec. School, Sector-44D , Chandigarh, an online Hindi Recitation competition was organized to mark ‘Hindi Diwas’. Keeping the various aspects of poetry, the tiny tots came up with a number of poems based on different topics such as corona virus, lockdown , trees, environment, mother, save girl child etc. Children enjoyed expressing their thoughts and feelings in hindi. It nurtured in them, immense love for their mother tongue. The participants were applauded and praised by the judges for pronouncing hindi words flawlessly. These kind of competitions help children to develop confidence, improve hindi vocabulary and also help the students to get rid of stage fear. It was a very enriching experience for the spectators and enjoyable for parents and participants.
Principal Ms Monica Chawla congratulated the winners and applauded the efforts of teachers and students. She emphasised the importance of knowing and speaking our language with fluency and pride. We should feel proud in speaking our mother tongue.
