‘Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family.’ -Kofi Annan
Knowledge can become the most powerful asset for an individual to make a difference to the society. Understanding the importance of knowledge, it is a constant endeavor of St. Joseph Senior Secondary School to raise and nurture the brains of our students in a well-informed manner so as to enable them to take decisions, benefitting themselves and the society at large.
In sync with this mission, the school has taken the initiative to encourage dialogue on topics of global significance wherein the students can combine their knowledge creativity to understand the causes, impact and repercussions of such issues and can develop practical solutions for the same.
The topic under consideration for this week was “Stubble Burning and its Negative Impacts”. The event witnessed active participation by the students from the Middle Block. Be it through poetry, posters, declamation or power point presentations, the students exhibited extensive research and analysis. The activities were marked with excellence as the students brought forth their analysis of the possible reasons for stubble burning along with its negative impact on the environment. Various alternatives for disposal of stubble were shared with an intention to create a win-win situation for both the farmers and the environment. A lot of plausible solutions came to spotlight, bringing to fore the fact that we have budding leaders amongst us.
