St. Joseph’s Sen. Sec. School, Sec.44 D, Chandigarh conducted a plethora of activities in the Secondary Block to create awareness about stubble-burning. The Josephians unleashed their hidden talent by making beautiful videos, slogans, PPTs and writing self-composed poems regarding the harmful effects of paddy straw burning and conveyed the message of not burning paddy stubble.
The youngsters did expensive research work to create awareness against the unhealthy practice of stubble burning. Through their creativity, students brought forth the damage caused by stubble-burning to the soil and the environment. The theme of the activities focused on preserving the fertility of the soil ,by not following hazardous practice on one hand and making the country clean, green and pollution-free on the other. The Principal Ms. Monica Chawla appreciated the efforts of the students for their valuable contribution in bringing realization against the menace of stubble – burning. She also praised the progressive farmers, who have refrained from burning paddy stubble and have tried to tackle this menace scientifically. She added that the young children – future of the nation would play a pivotal role in this regard.
