Rashtriya Ekta Diwas(National Unity Day) was introduced under the leadership of our Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi in 2014. Since then 31st October is celebrated every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel.
We can proudly announce that the Prime Minister also inaugurated the ‘Statue of Unity’ of 182 meters (597 feet) in Gujarat, which is the world’s tallest statue, on his 143th birth anniversary.
To celebrate this auspicious day the students of Primary II block of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44 D, Chandigarh, enthusiastically participated in activities like poster making, slogan writing. It was really commendable to see how creatively the students gave the message that we all should imbibe his teachings and walk on his footsteps of simplicity, honesty and a disciplined life. We should all come forth and thrive for the most important essence required for the progress and security of a nation i.e. National Unity.
Inspirational videos on the life of Sardar Patel were also shown to the students which were very encouraging. The efforts of all the students were worth applauding as it was clearly visible that the young minds of today would certainly turn out to be dynamic leaders of future India. All in all it was perfect tribute to the Iron man of India
