‘First aid – A Life Skill’ Training Session held at St.Joseph’s

To prepare the students for a better tomorrow, St.Joseph’s Sen.Sec. School, Chandigarh organised an online interactive training session for the students and teachers of the Secondary block of the school. The school doctor, Dr. Megha Sharma, acquainted the students and teachers with various do’s and don’ts to be followed in case of day to day accidents like a burn, fracture, dog bite etc.

She made the participants aware about the need to learn and practice First Aid in real life because they might be the first and the only help available to someone in an emergency situation. The Josephians actively participated in the interactive session which was held online to empower them with a life saving skill. They were acquainted with various ways to manage the minor accidents and provide the basic medical help before the real medical help arrives.

Dr. Megha Sharma, through a PowerPoint Presentation, imparted knowledge of commonly occurring situations and urged the students to remain calm in adverse situations. The workshop was followed by a quiz and a doubt clarification session which made learning more fun and meaningful. It was an interactive and educative session to equip both educators as well as the learners with skills and confidence to use first aid in a real-life situation, if the situation may demand so. The participants, after the session felt enriched and confident to face real life accidents with courage. They thanked the school management for such an initiative to make learning more realistic and significant.

The school Principal, Ms Monica Chawla lauded the effort and acknowledged the need to equip today’s learners with various life skills in addition to the knowledge and training required for life. She assured the participants for arranging many more skill based sessions like this to take learning to the next level.
