St. Joseph’s bags ‘The Best Herbal Garden’ award at State level Seminar
On March 12, 2021 Yuvsatta (Youth for peace)- NGO with Medicinal Plants Board, UT, Chandigarh and Eco Club of Dev Samaj College of Education organised a one-day State Level Seminar on ‘Medicinal Plants and Herbal Gardens. Sh. Debendra Dalai, IFS, Chief Executive Officer, Medicinal Plants Board, CCF cum Director, Department of Environment was the Chief Guest and Dr. Abdul Qayum, IFS, DCF, Department of Forests & Wildlife was the Guest of Honour. With distinguished resource persons, around ninety faculty members from different schools and colleges participated in it.
Three colleges and three schools of the city were honoured with the BEST HERBAL GARDEN AWARDS and St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School was one of them.
The award was received by the Principal Ms. Monica Chawla, along with the eco club incharge Ms. G. Nitya and the presenter of the school work Ms.Jagmeet Bhatti.
The Eco Club team at St Joseph’s truly worked as the torch bearer for all others in spreading awareness about herbs and medicinal plants among the generation next. The Principal endorsed the idea that schools can definitely become an agent of change for overall well-being of Man and Mother Earth. She also acknowledged the hardwork put in by all the teachers and encouraged them to keep the good work going.
The director, Mr.Rupinder Grewal, alongwith management members Mr. Sukhdeep Grewal and Mr. Paramdeep Grewal appreciated the efforts of the team and further motivated them to keep innovating the wheel of environment education in school and surroundings to play our part well as ‘Green Saviours’.
