“Dance is the hidden language of the soul.”
With the thought of spreading happiness and to not let the lockdown make the students feel lonely and forlorn the Primary II Block of St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, sector – 44 D, Chandigarh took an initiative to celebrate International Dance Day on 29th April,2021.
To commemorate the day, a ‘Dance Competition’ was held in which the students of Classes III, IV and V participated with much anticipation and zeal . The theme of the competition was to ‘showcase any dance form conveying a good social message.’ The students shared two minutes videos performing on different dance forms such as Contemporary, Classical, Folk, Hip Hop etc.
The teachers received an overwhelming response from the young and energetic Josephians as they thoroughly enjoyed the foot tapping music along with the exquisite dance forms.
The best performances were adjudged and shortlisted by the school dance teacher, Ms. Ruby Sharma on the basis of song selection, expressions, lyrics, style, synchronization, presentation, props and costumes. The winners were awarded with e-certificates.
The competition really proved to be a significant means to engage the students creatively and to keep them in high spirits even under the ongoing stressful times.
