Celebrating the Bravery of Indian Soldiers on Kargil Vijay Divas
‘Kargil Vijay Divas’ is celebrated on 26 July every year in honour of the Kargil War’s Heroes. To mark the day of ‘Kargil Vijay Divas’, Middle Block, St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh, took the initiative to make the young minds aware about the sacrifices and brave moves undertaken by Indian soldiers for our beloved country. These young students, the future of our country, were overwhelmed with emotions when made face to face with the sacrifices undertaken by our soldiers during the very victorious Kargil War or in any other attacks from abroad. As said, by Minot Judson Savage,
“The brave die never, though they sleep in dust: Their courage nerves a thousand living men.”
In the light of above, students of the block with their patriotic hearts, undertook few activities arranged especially for them to bring alive their emotions and love for their country, also to salute the heroism and dauntlessness of Indian soldiers. They, whole-heartedly participated in poetry recitation and creating mime videos. Hearing the hot – blooded content of their poetry, brought tears and passionate thoughts along. The mime videos left everyone in array of emotions, bringing every spectacle of kargil alive in front of all. Some shared the happy notes as well, celebrating the victorious day.
The faculty applauded the efforts of the participants and showered them with compliments. A short speech, over the same, by one of the members highlighting the main theme of the celebration, brought it to end.
Last but not the least, Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla, appreciated students’ efforts and how painstakingly they performed the activities. She congratulated the faculty as well, over the groovy yet impetuous chain of events. She adjourned the programme with her words of appreciation and thankfulness towards Indian soldiers.
