Webinar for students was organised to mark Teachers Day Celebration.
Reliving Benjamin Franklin’s philosophy- “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn”, the students of the Secondary Block of St Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School attended a Webinar highlighting the importance of the contributions of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and relating them with the present scenario.
The SocialScience Department of the school organised an interactive webinar, using the virtual mode, to make students aware of Radhakrishnan’s Recommendations. To incorporate the principle of Blended and Interdisciplinary Approach of teaching, the recommendations were used for the study of various subjects like social sciences, languages, science, mathematics, and religion. The students were also made to understand how the recommendations laid years ago still have practical relation with student’s overall development, making it an integral part of the NEP 2020 as well as the school curriculum.
As per the proposals of the Visionary, Dr. Radhakrishnan, the three-language formula of teaching has found room in the NEP 2020. It was no less than a moment of pride for the students of the school to know that the recommendations laid by Dr. Sarvepalli years ago are still given value in the artistically planned curriculum of the school. As Dr. Sarvepalli emphasised women’s education, the school’s innovative Girl India Project reflects the same.
The students enthusiastically participated in the webinar by putting up questions related to the life and philosophy of Dr. Radhakrishnan from the host department.
The school Principal was full of praises for one of its kind endeavour of the SocialScience department of the school to innovatively involving students in the understanding of recommendations laid by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan years go and how they still find relevance in the dynamic world. She also thanked the teachers of the school for their whole-hearted devotion to carve out the best in the future world leaders.
