“International Day  of Clean Air for Blue Skies'”

“Nobody can be in good health if he doesn’t have all the time fresh air, sunshine and good water.”

To serve as a rallying call of action to collectively align our  efforts and claim the right to clean air, ‘International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies’ was marked at St.Joseph’s Sr.Sec.School, Sector 44 D, Chandigarh.

Following the international community’s increasing interest in clean air and emphasizing the need to make further efforts to improve air quality to protect human health, the United Nations General Assembly has designated 7 September as the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies’.The theme for this year’s International Day of Clean Air for Blue skies is “Healthy Air, Healthy Planet”

To emphasize on the health effects of air particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, a plethora of activities were conducted at St. Joseph’s.

“Imagine if trees gave off Wi-Fi signals” we had been planting so many trees, we had probably saved the planet.”

A tree plantation drive was  carried out by the students of class Vll (Middle Block) to create awareness regarding the need to ensure the clean air for everyone.The importance of trees in contributing to the environment by providing oxygen and  improving air quality was shared with the students.The students participated in the tree plantation drive with great zeal and enthusiasm and thus made it successful. They pledged to spread the awareness for growing more trees.

A Poster Making Competition was also organised.The competition was like an extravagance for the young painters and the spectators as well, as they have used their brilliance of painting blended with the perceptions displayed on the painting sheet. Further the young artists also displayed the uniqueness and beauty of the earth and  was commendable.

The revered Principal Ms Monica Chawla appreciated their efforts. She said that little efforts made by each of us can make a huge difference to the overall environment of Earth.
