Upholding the spirit of the Constitution

As a tribute to the aspirations of modern India, every year the nation observes 26th November as the National Constitution Day.

This year the country is celebrating its 75th year of Independence as the ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. Commemorating the day of adoption of the constitution, the students of St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh participated in a number of activities. The students collectively took an oath, pledging their solidarity and respect towards the Indian Constitution. They read aloud the Preamble with dedication and devotion reveling in each and every aspect mentioned in the longest written document of the world. An online quiz pertaining to the fundamental facets of the constitution was also conducted to test and enhance the knowledge of the students.

India is a country of diverse cultures and religions and the constitution ensures to uphold it as a socialist, sovereign, secular, democratic republic. The constitution also lays down the fundamental rights and duties of its citizens, a guarantee to help them flourish and grow in a safe and free environment.

Truly understanding the significance of the constitution, the Josephians observed the day with the true spirit of patriotism and vowed to observe and adhere to its values.

The Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla urged the students to feel proud to be part of the largest democracy of the world governed by the sacred constitution. She extended her warm wishes to all for  being a part of this celebration and  motivated everyone to work towards the progress of the nation.
