‘CONSERVE ENERGY TO PRESERVE FUTURE.’
National Energy Conservation Day is celebrated every year on the 14th of December, the day has been celebrated since 1991 and the day is led by the Ministry of Power. Conserving energy is the best way to have a greener and brighter future. The day focuses on raising awareness of climate change and global warming. The act was executed by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency.
Keeping the importance of energy conservation, energy efficiency and frugality in energy use ,the Primary 2 Block of St. Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44-D,Chandigarh organized various activities .The students were sensitized about the importance of saving energy through Powerpoint presentations, speeches, poems, riddles and videos. These activities turned out to be a great learning experience for them. Teachers also talked about the measures to be taken to conserve energy efficiently. The young Josephians took a pledge to spread awareness about climate change and make efforts towards saving energy resources and switching to sustainable means and adopt energy conservation in our everyday lives.
To have a greater impact on the energy conservation strategy, energy conservation should be ingrained in every human being’s behaviour was the message conveyed by the Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla, who also appreciated the efforts and keen interest of the young Josephites towards energy conservation.
