Bonding and Collaboration Marks Lohri Celebrations

Festivals mark a period of celebration, togetherness, peace and joy. They prompt a feeling of gratitude towards the almighty for his beautiful creations. Celebrating the true spirit of the Lohri, girls from St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School and Government High School, Sector 50 under the Girls India Project got together virtually. Dressed in ethnic attires, donning bright and colourful parandis and jewellery the girls celebrated the day with full in zeal and enthusiasm. Lighting the sacred bonfire in their respective places, the girls paid reverence to the fire God symbolic of strength and power. As the girls offered sweets, popcorns and peanuts to the fire God, they pledged to be a constant source of strength for each other, empowering one another at each and every step. Singing and dancing to the traditional folk songs marked the special Lori celebrations.

The management members Mr. Sukhdeep Grewal, Mr. Paramdeep Grewal and the principal Mrs Monica Chawla wished the girls a very happy Lohri and asked them to continue celebrating the traditional festivals with the same fervour and enthusiasm year after year.
