Republic day –The National Festival Celebrated at St Joseph’s, Chandigarh
Republic Day signifies the right spirit of independent and individual India. It reminds us to fulfill the responsibility of being good citizens of India with sincerity. Keeping this year’s theme of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Students of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44 D, Chandigarh celebrated India’s 73rd Republic Day virtually in solemnity and grandeur.
Drenched in the colours of patriotism, all the students enthusiastically participated in virtual activities and competitions based on the themes of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ and “Knowing our Constitution’. The activities ranging from Quizzes/ Speeches on Republic Day tableaux and Constitution; Fancy dress; Mime, Art Integrated Activities, Patriotic songs and dances,Slogan/Poetry writing helped students eulogise the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters who laid their lives to help us breathe in the free air. The creativity shown by students in all these activities was phenomenal.
The school principal, Ms. Monica Chawla, expressed pride in the rich culture and diversity of the nation which is represented at the school also and urged students to maintain high standards of integrity and devotion in all work and play to build a nation that is strong, developed, independent, capable, and sets an example for the world.
