Josephhites pay tribute to all freedom fighters who lived for the nation
True to School tradition ‘Quit India Movement Day’ an important milestone in the Freedom Struggle of India, was observed at St.Joseph’s Sr.Sec.School, Sector 44 D, Chandigarh.
The Quit India Movement (Bharat Chhodo Andolan ) has huge historical significance for India. It reminds us of the great mass movement organised under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi in August 1942.
With devotion in the mind and dedication in the hearts the hisorical ‘Dandi March’ was recreated by a team of 28 young patriots and four teachers led by a young Josephite portraying Gandhi ji .With their hearts welling with immense respect for the Father of the Nation,they started from the school campus, flagged off by honourable Management member Sir Paramdeep Singh and Principal Ms Monica Chawla.
To keep the sparks of patriotism alive,a Poster Making Competition was also organised for Class Vl students.Our young patriots participated in this competition with a lot of enthusiasm coming up with very creative and innovative posters unfurling myriad shades of patriotism.
The revered Management member Sir Paramdeep Singh said in his message for the students “Never forget you can make the difference. Go ahead and do it. Your family, your society, your country is waiting for you.”The honourable Principal Ms Monica Chawla in her address remembered the sacrifice and selfless service of thousands of men, women and children who had laid down their lives during India’s long freedom struggle.
