Exciting and Interactive Session with the Butterfly Man
The students of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Chandigarh got an amazing opportunity of learning when Kulbhushan Kanwar, popularly known as the “Butterfly Man” of Chandigarh visited the school and held an interactive session with them on the topic, ’Life on Earth’. Mr. Kulbhushan is a passionate environmentalist who has been observing and studying various species of butterflies over the past few years. Mr. Kanwar has been relentlessly putting efforts to create awareness amongst the masses about these beautiful creatures of nature that make a significant contribution in maintaining the bio-diversity and creating a harmonious environment.
The school also invited students from Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 53, for the session with a strong belief in the saying that knowledge shared is knowledge multiplied. Students of both the schools thoroughly enjoyed the interactive session and marveled at the beautiful bounty of nature and its wonders as shared by our esteemed guest. Sir shared with the students how important it is to inculcate and develop healthy habits, whether eating, sleeping, reading or studying. He urged the students to always sit in an upright position while studying for better concentration. The palpable energy and interest of the students was quite evident as they were curious to know more and kept asking questions to quench their thirst for knowledge. The students felt spellbound as Mr. Kanwar unraveled the fascinating world of butterflies and snakes.
The Management members expressed their gratitude for the enlightening talk. It is the Management’s vision that the school takes unique initiatives to create awareness and problem solving skills. Principal, Ms. Monica Chawla, an ardent environmentalist herself also extended a vote of thanks to Mr. Kanwar. She shared as how the students of the school have been making significant contributions and doing their bit for the environment under the Eco-club. She reiterated that how we students, as responsible citizens of the country can help to create a sustainable and diverse ecosystem, assuring a peaceful co-existence for all forms of life.
