Mindfulness is the awareness that emerges through paying attention on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally unfolding of the experience, moment by moment. It’s training allows children to have more control over their thoughts and become focused.
It provides many physical and psychological benefits like reducing the negative effects of stress and increasing student’s ability to stay engaged, helping them stay on track academically and avoiding behaviour problems.
So keeping all these thoughts in mind Primary -1 block of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School conducted various activities under Peace Club to equip them with tools to build their self-esteem, manage stress and skilfully overcome challenges. By teaching children meditation and mindfulness skills, we help them increase their well-being and enable them to meet the hardships of the world with their presence of mind, self-compassion, and openness to innovative ideas, which helps the students attain mental and spiritual stability. We believe a student can blossom into wonders if he/she is mentally strong to face any situation.
Principal Ms. Monica Chawla appreciated the efforts of children for being proactive in all the activities and shaping their minds as per the need of the hour.
