Good Friday was marked by the students of St. Josephs Sr. Sec School, Sector 44D.The day is observed because of the crucification and death of Jesus Christ and is commemorated with prayers across the world.
Being a solemn and reflective day, it reminds one of the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ. It is also a time to express gratitude for God’s love and mercy. To carry this message forward, the students of the Secondary block made beautifully crafted crosses which had messages and quotes on kindness. The cross symbolizes the sacrifice that was made by Christ .Some noteworthy lines read, “Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end. ”Another cross had the lines – “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see. ”The purpose of doing an activity of this nature was to enable young children to understand that even small acts of kindness create feelings of worth and belonging.
The Principal Ms. Monica Chawla stressed on the need for children to be taught the value of kindness, as she believes that such committed practices, bring children great rewards such as increased levels of happiness, caring and emotional well being. She also added that it gives children a greater sense of belonging, improved self esteem and increased feelings of gratitude. Indeed, good learnings for young impressionable minds.
