A truly proud moment as a Class X student of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School , Abhinav Thakur, demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication in the field of chess through his commendable achievements in multiple prestigious tournaments. He participated in the PCA Online Chess Tournament, organized by the PCA Chess Academy, in October 2024, held on the online platform Lichess.com, where he competed at the Open Level and secured the 30th position, earning a medal for his efforts.
In the 6th SCA Cash Prize Tournament, conducted by Sahil Chess Academy in November 2024, at Anne’s School, Kharar, Mohali, Abhinav showcased his prowess in the Under-15 category and secured an impressive 6th position. His outstanding performance earned him three medals highlighting his growth and skill in competitive chess.
Earlier in August 2024, he participated in the 5th SCA Cash Prize Tournament, also organized by Sahil Chess Academy, at T.M.S School, Mohali. Competing once again in the Under-15 category, he secured the 6th position and was awarded two medals further cementing his reputation as a consistent and promising player.
These accolades not only reflect Abhinav’s strategic thinking and perseverance but also his unwavering passion for chess, marking him as a rising star in the chess community.
