The most heartfelt moment of the ceremony was the conferring of the Lily Sebastian Memorial Award — instituted in loving memory of Late Founder, Mrs. Lily Sebastian, whose life embodied wisdom, humility and an unwavering code of ethics. This year, the honour was bestowed upon Ms. Rama Garg, Head of the Mathematics Department, whose resourcefulness, helpful nature and dedication made her a truly deserving recipient.

The spirit of the day was further enlivened by a series of unusual and exuberant games such as Gubaare Udao- Button Lagao, Maan Lo Hamara Hukum, Guess the Song, Pass the Prize, which infused the gathering with a buoyant charm, playful spontaneity and a delightful spark of togetherness.

The occasion also witnessed a Book Release Ceremony, unveiling a volume that captured the photographs and initiatives of Teaching Beyond Walls. The book stands as a testament to the school’s vision of taking learning beyond conventional classrooms, celebrating the creativity, outreach and impact of this unique endeavour.

To enrich the occasion further, Ms. Paramjit, a veteran educator and seasoned mentor, penned a touching poem on the timeless bond between teacher and student. The verses beautifully captured the essence of guidance, trust and mutual growth, reminding everyone that teaching is not just a profession but a shared journey of inspiration.

Principal Ma’am, in her address, spoke of two invaluable currencies that define a teacher’s journey — Performance Currency and Relationship Currency. She emphasized that while performance reflects dedication to excellence, it is relationships that nurture trust and shape lifelong connections. Striking the right balance between the two, she noted, is what makes a teacher truly impactful.

Expressing her gratitude, Principal Ma’am said, “When the Management honours teachers with such affection, it reminds us that we are not just shaping futures — we are part of a family that values, uplifts and walks beside us in every endeavour.”

The felicitation was followed by a sumptuous luncheon, where teachers shared not only a delightful meal but also laughter, camaraderie and a renewed sense of belonging.

The event concluded with heartfelt words of gratitude from the teachers to the Management and Principal for their unwavering support, constant encouragement and for making them feel truly valued as the heart of St. Joseph’s.
