The morning of 7th November 2025 at St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh was filled with the air of patriotism and pride as the school joined the nation in celebrating 150 glorious years of the National Song “Vande Mataram.”The event was organized in accordance with the directive issued by the District Education Officer, U.T. Chandigarh, under the nationwide initiative of the **Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
At 10:00 a.m. the entire school connected virtually to witness the formal inauguration by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, marking the commencement of this historic year-long commemoration. In perfect harmony, students across all classes stood proudly and sang 'Vande Mataram'joining millions of voices across the country in a moment that reflected the true essence of unity, patriotism, and reverence for our motherland.
A special assembly was also conducted in the school premises to mark the occasion. The programme commenced with a soulful rendition of Vande Mataram'by the school choir, followed by a thought-provoking speech that enlightened students about the rich historical significance and emotional depth of our National Song. The speaker highlighted how “Vande Mataram” served as a powerful anthem during India’s freedom movement and continues to inspire generations with its timeless message of love and devotion towards the nation.
In her heartfelt address, the Principal of St. Joseph’s Sr. Sec. School lauded the enthusiasm and discipline of the students, stating, “Commemorating 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’ reminds us of our proud heritage and our duty as citizens to uphold the ideals of unity and service.
