St. Joseph’s Sr. Secondary School, Primary 1 Block, celebrated its cultural showcase ‘Whimsical Wonders’ in the gracious presence of Mrs. Harpreet Kaur Babla, Mayor, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, as Chief Guest, and Ms. Nirmal Sharma, Deputy DEO (1), U.T. Education Department, Chandigarh, as Guest of Honour; their encouraging presence added warmth and pride to the occasion. Principals of collaborating schools also graced the event. The programme commenced with the release of balloons — a sight that beautifully reflected the spirit of childhood.

The vibrant line-up opened with ‘Vatratunda Vandana’, a soulful invocation to Lord Ganesha. ‘Digital Detox’ urged mindful use of technology, followed by ‘Folk Frenzy’, which celebrated India’s cultural richness through Rajasthani puppetry and Gujarati garba. ‘Aussie Groove’ brought global energy with an Australian drill dance.

A stirring piece on ‘Zero Hunger’ inspired compassion through simple acts of sharing, while ‘Echoes of Devotion’ beautifully portrayed a mother’s lullaby and Krishna’s innocence. ‘Viva Espana’ swept the audience into Spanish festivity, culminating in ‘Rhythm of Champions’, a spirited salute to courage and the girls’ cricket team’s inspiring victory.

Engaging fillers infused the programme with warmth, wit, and meaning—from the reflective poem ‘Gift of Time’ to light-hearted jokes and a lively Shabd, each creating moments that made the audience smile and stay connected. Students also presented a light yet impactful ‘COP 30’ filler, using humor to stress urgent climate action, ending with the reminder: “Protect our planet—there is no Planet B.”

A key highlight of the event was the unfurling of the SDG Programme Banner, announcing St. Joseph’s commitment to implementing 12 Sustainable Development Goals through purposeful learning and action. The initiative soon to be reinforced with SDG elements, reflects the school’s commitment to living these global goals and inspiring responsible young citizens.

The event was graced by Dr. Siddharatha Sharma (MCSFS), Wildlifer and Mission Facilitator, DECC, Govt. of Punjab, to whom a cheque for animal adoption was presented, reaffirming the school’s commitment to nurturing compassion in children. A specially designed banner showcasing the animals adopted by the school was unveiled, inspiring students to care for all living beings.

The chief guest appreciated the programme, noting that it had been a magical showcase by the students and acknowledging the parents for nurturing and guiding their children so well. In her address, Principal Monica Chawla presented the annual school report, highlighting the school’s major achievements and the recognition it had earned. She proudly noted that the school had won 11 awards this year, celebrated the many accolades earned by teachers for their dedication, highlighted the remarkable successes of sports students who brought laurels at various levels, and acknowledged the countless accomplishments that continue to elevate the school’s stature. The report captured a year of hard work, innovation, and collective excellence—a community that strives, shines, and sets new benchmarks with every step. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the management members for their steadfast support and constant guidance.

The programme concluded with a spirited Bhangra that filled the campus with joy and applause. As the curtains fell, parents left the venue with full hearts, grateful smiles, and the quiet pride of witnessing their little ones shine so brightly.
